A Domino Table is used to play a game of domino. Domino tables have special features to accommodate the domino tiles while the game is played. They can also have a built-in cup holder and ashtray. The table can be square or have another shape, depending on the table style. The different shaped tables can accommodate from 4 to 6 players.
Domino is played with tiles, which are the rectangular shaped pieces with different dots on the front. The dots are also referred to as pips. Each dot represents the number 1 and the dots are added to determine the value of the tile. The most common domino tile size is 2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 3/8 inch thick. Domino games are generally played by 2 to 6 players. Domino tournaments have many players who play against each other. They eliminate each other until a single or a team of domino players remains.
There are many different types of domino sets. The most popular are double 6. A double-six dominoes set allows players to enjoy most of the traditional domino games. The set has 28 tiles and takes up less space on the domino table top. Larger dominoes sets are also available. These include double-nine dominoes with 55 tiles, double-twelve with 91 tiles, double-fifteen with 136 tiles and double-eighteen with 190 tiles.
Domino tables are essential to play a game of dominoes, and there are other traditions associated with the game. One is smoking cigars. This is a tradition with cultural roots to Cuba. Domino is a very popular game among Cubans and smoking Cuban cigars while playing the game makes it that much more enjoyable. It also adds to the atmosphere of the game.
